For sale here is an Orvis Battenkill 6'6" 2/2 6wt impregnated bamboo rod in near mint condition. Medium toned cane with bright guides and dark brown windings. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight, full length & serialized (#79445). 5.5" cigar grip is bright and smooth, and the rod is fitted with Orvis' down-locking reel seat over dark wood spacer. The rod looks absolutely mint except for some faint mounting marks to the reel seat. Stated and actual weight is 2 7/8oz. Rated as a 6wt but as with many Orvis rods of this era it fishes best with 1 line weight lighter (in this case a DT5). The serial number puts the date of manufacture in late 1976. A beautifully preserved rod, sold in the original bag and leather clad aluminum tube with blank registration card.
