Howells, G.H. - 7'6" 2/2 4wt (3oz) Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Gary Howells 7'6" 2/2 4wt bamboo rod. Excellent used condition except one tip has a 0.80" clear wrap below the tip top. Serial #4303, made in 1976. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes, bright snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are color preserved chestnut brown with gold tipping. All sections are full length, straight & serialized, and the 12/64 ferrules fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper, 5.5" cork grip (smooth and clean), and Howell's standard up-locking aluminum reel seat over zebrawood spacer. The rod appears to have seen little use, if it weren't for the clear wrap on the tip this rod would be rated 'excellent+'. Scripted weight is 3oz, but my scale reads 3.39oz. A classic Howells rod with medium action that flexes down to the grip. A lovely small stream taper. Sold in the original bag and what appears to be the original, label-less tube.
