For sale here is a rare Gary Howells 7'3" 2/2 3wt bamboo rod in excellent+ original condition. Serial #5631, made in 1989. Featuring medium tempered cane with 2x2 nodes and bright guides wrapped in chestnut brown windings & gold tipping. All sections are straight, full length and serialized. Overwrapped ferrules fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper over 5.5" cork grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with a cap & ring reel seat over cork spacer. The grip is smooth with just a hint of soiling. 2 3/8oz scripted weight, but my scale reads 2.64oz. Smooth, full flexing action, perfect with a DT3 and a light fly. A rather scarce Howells taper, with just over 100 examples produced. Sold in the original bag and tube with custom canvas tube protector.
