For sale here is a rare R.D. Taylor 4pc 7'6" pack rod in excellent+ condition. Lawn cast only, a remarkable impregnated rod from Bob Taylor's "D-series" rods, presumably inspired by the Leonard Duracane rods. Built on a polished impregnated blank with 2x2 nodes, dark guides and bright ferrules. Ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are full length & straight. Dark, hunter green wraps throughout, and the original script is bold and clear in white ink on the butt section. Nickel silver checks, 5.5" cork grip (smooth with a whisper of soiling), and cap & ring reel seat over fine wood spacer. The reel seat hardware is bright, and the butt cap reads "R.D. Taylor - Makers". Weight is 3.77oz. A medium action 5wt with a swelled butt and plenty of power. Whether you're looking for a rod to take into the backcountry or just a great 5wt to fish on your local streams, this is a great rod. Bob Taylor didn't make very many D-series rods, and even fewer in the 4-pc configuration. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube with carry strap.
