Payne - 8' 3/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Payne 8' 3/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent condition. Expertly restored by John Gallas and previously sold as a model 201. There is no hang tag present so it's hard to say for sure, the overall weight (4.69oz) nudges it towards a model 202, but it is firmly in the "medium action 5wt" category. Medium tempered cane with dark snake guides wrapped brown with gold tipping. All sections are straight and full length. 10/64 & 15/64 ferrules are blued and fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper and NS winding check over 6" grip. Standard Payne screw lock reel seat over Spanish Cedar spacer. The screw collar retains the Payne and A&F roll stamps. The original grip was left alone during the restoration, and it shows a hint of soiling and light ridging. A faithfully restored Payne dry fly rod. Medium action, best with a DT5. Sold in a replacement bag and tube with replacement Payne label.
