Paul H. Young - 'Texan Deluxe' 8'6" 2/3 7wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Paul Young Texan Deluxe 8'6" 2/3 bamboo rod in excellent condition. Full restored by Bob Summers with a 3rd tip made at the same time. Flamed cane with bronzed snake guides and hard chrome stripping guide. Wraps are transparent brown, and the tip tops are wrapped differently for ease of rotation. One original tip is marked "Dry”, and the other original tip (green wrap at the top) is clearly heavier and feels like it will be better for wet flies. The 3rd tip made by Summers has no decorative tipping at the tip top. 15/64 Super Z ferrules are blued and fit perfectly. All the wraps and varnish are in excellent condition. Bent loop hook keeper, 6.5" cork grip and non-pocketed cap & ring reel seat over mortised cork spacer. All the cork is smooth with just a bit of soiling. Script on the butt reads "'Texan Deluxe' 8 1/2' 4.59oz HCH, HCF - Bamboo wt. 3.43oz Fer .234, tip tops .078". Actual weight is 4.73oz. Each tip casts a DT or WF7 nicely and the action is on the medium side of medium fast, bordering on semi-parabolic. A rather powerful heavy trout/bass taper, fully restored by the master. Sold in a replacement bag made by Summers to accommodate the 3rd tip and original B-24 tube. The original 2-tip bag with dark brown piping is included with the sale.
