For sale here is an 8' 2/2 5wt Brackett-era Winston bamboo rod in excellent used condition. #3951, this is one of the last rods made during Glenn Brackett's tenure at the Winston Rod Co, and the butt script indicates that the rod was made by Jeff Walker and Glenn Brackett. Medium toned cane with light honey colored thread wraps and red agate stripping guide. Overwrapped Duronz ferrules fit perfectly. All sections are straight, full length & serialized. The original owner's name is scripted on the butt. 6.5" grip (clean and smooth) with bamboo winding check. The reel seat is Zebrawood with nickel silver hardware. Scripted weight is 3 3/4oz but my scale reads slightly less at 3.63oz. On the medium side of medium fast, the rod casts a DT5 nicely with enough power to get through the wind. A fine Brackett-era Winston, ready to fish.
