For sale here is a Gary Howells 7'6" 2/2 4wt bamboo rod in excellent original condition. Serial #3843, made in 1971. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes, bright snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are color preserved chestnut brown with gold tipping. All sections are full length & serialized, and the tips both have faint sweeps. 13/64 ferrules fit perfectly. Skeleton cork grip & reel seat with aluminum cap & ring hardware. Light grip soiling is the only real sign of use I see, this one was well cared for and remains in amazing condition. Scripted and actual weight is 3oz. A classic Howells rod with medium action that flexes down to the grip. Made for Anglers All in the first year after Gary Howells left the Winston Rod Co. to make rods under his own name. Sold in the original bag and tube with label affixed.
