For sale here is an 8'3" 2-piece / 2-tip 5wt bamboo rod from the bench of Jim Hidy. Excellent used condition, the rod features bright guides and hardware wrapped in transparent honey-colored silks with black accents. The banded agate stripping guide has been expertly repaired and re-wrapped by Ric Plante of Tom Morgan Rodsmiths. Swiss-style ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight, full length and serialized. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 node spacing. Strap & ring hook keeper over 6 1/4" cork grip and cap & ring reel seat over mortised spacer. On the medium side of medium fast, I like it with a DT5 though it feels like it would handle a 4wt line just as well. Weight is 3.60oz. The varnish is in great shape and the rod is ready to hit the water. Sold in the original bag with Jim's heavy brass capped aluminum tube.
