For sale here is a 7'3" 2-piece / 2-tip, 4wt bamboo rod from the bench of Rob Hoffhines. A new rod from the maker, No. 423. Hollow-fluted construction, featuring richly flamed cane with oxidized snake guides and red agate stripper. Windings are transparent brown with dark chestnut tipping. The sections are straight, full length and serialized, and the Swiss-style ferrules fit perfectly. Tips are marked for ease of rotation. Nickel silver hexagonal winding check, , 6" grip and blued cap & ring reel seat over mortised burl spacer. Weight is 3.40oz. A nimble 4wt with pleasant medium fast action. Light in the hand, a delightful small stream rod. Sold in the original bag and tube with maker’s decal.
