For sale here is a 7'6" 3-piece / 2-tip 6wt quad bamboo rod made by C.W. "Sam" Carlson. Excellent original condition except the stripping guide was rewrapped by Dana Gray of the Carlson Rod Co. Medium flamed cane with dark snake guides and red agate stripping guide. Wraps are light brown with black tipping. All sections are straight and full length, and the squared ferrules fit perfectly. The butt section is scripted with the original owner's name & "Thomas Four". U-shaped hook keeper and 5.8" cork grip (smooth with just a hint of soiling). The reel seat spacer is cork with a strip of Pakkawood on the back to protect the cork, an unusual and deluxe addition to this special rod. The rod comes with a detachable 3 3/4" fighting butt, and a nickel silver plug for when the fighting butt is not in use. 5.31oz overall weight, without the fighting butt. Action on the faster side of medium fast, I find it to be a strong 6wt and I suspect it would be well suited to casting large dries or traditional streamers with a sink tip. Maybe even light salmon/steelhead work. Sold in what appears to be the original bag and tube with one of Sam's original business cards attached.
