Carlson, C.W. - Carlson Four 6' 2/2 4wt Quad Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an extremely rare C.W. "Sam" Carlson 6' 2/2 4wt quad bamboo rod in excellent original condition. Medium flamed cane with staggered nodes. Snake guides and carbide stripping guide, all wrapped in crimson windings with black accents. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight, full length & serialized (#803). The butt script is clear & bold and reads "Carlson 'Four' - 803-462 - C.W. 'Sam' Carlson Maker". Made in 1980 for rod dealer Joe Garman. Black Bakelite winding check, cork check & butt cap are in perfect shape, and the base of the reel seat spacer is made of a dark Pakkawood insert. All the cork is smooth with light soiling. The reel seat hardware and ferrules retain their dark bluing. Weight is 2.43oz. This is a delightful point & shoot 6-footer, perfect with a DT4. The action is positive with quick recovery, a snappy small stream rod. Very few 6' Carlsons exist, and this one is in amazing original condition. Sold in the original bag & tube. The Champion tube has a previous owner's name & address etched in the bottom cap.
