For sale here is a Per Brandin 897-2 SDF, 8'9" 2/2 7wt hollow built quad bamboo rod. Excellent used condition, this rod comes with a story. Originally made in 1996 by Brandin, the butt section was later broken by a previous owner in Europe. The rod was sent to Mario Wojnicki who re-made the butt section using Per's taper & hollowing. Built on a medium tempered blank with bright guides and transparent ochre windings. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight, full length & serialized (the tips in Brandin's handwriting, the butt in Wojnicki's). The snake guide closest to the ferrule on one tip has a small amount of play under the wraps. 6.5" cork grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with Mario's up-locking reel seat hardware and fixed fighting butt with wood cap. Weight is 5.64oz. A strong 7wt, purpose built for steelhead/salmon fishing. Sold in a replacement bag and Champion style tube.
