For sale here is a 9' 2/2 6wt R.L. Winston bamboo rod. Excellent used condition, made in San Francisco. One tip appears to be replaced or rewrapped by Winston. The wraps are a bit more yellow/orange than the original tan "putty" windings. Lightly tempered cane with 3x3 nodes, low bridge stripping guides and bright snakes. Duronz ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are full length, straight & serialized (#9110). The original owner's name is scripted on the butt above the model info. Black Bakelite winding check over an all-cork grip & reel seat with aluminum hardware. The cork is smooth with light soiling. Scripted weight is 4 1/2oz but my scale reads just a bit less than that. Medium action bordering on medium-slow, best with a WF6. The lightest 9' Winston bamboo rod I could find in my old catalogs is 4 7/8oz; this rod is almost a full half ounce lighter! An unusual special order 9 footer, sold in a correct 3 compartment red bag and Cal-Air tube with 75% decal.
