Winston, R. L. - 8'9" 2/1, 4 7/8oz (7wt) Bamboo Fly Rod

For sale here is a Winston 8'9" 2-piece / 1-tip hollow built 7wt bamboo rod in very good used condition. San Francisco era, the stated weight is 4 7/8oz although it weighs a hair heavier on my scale. Medium tempered cane with golden bronze windings and red accents. Overwrapped Duronz ferrules fit perfectly. Bright snake and low-bridge guides throughout. Most of the windings on the snake guides show some degree of drying out. The guides are quite secure, although they would benefit from a light overcoat. Both sections are full length and serialize and the tip has a slight casting sweep. Black bakelite winding check with strap & ring hook keeper, 6" cork grip is slightly soiled and the top is marred from being used as a hook keeper. Down-locking aluminum reel seat over black bakelite spacer. The original owners name is scripted on the butt section. A classic 7wt from Winston. Sold in original cloth bag and replacement anodized aluminum tube.
