For sale here is a Lew Stoner era Winston 8'6" 2-piece / 1-tip bamboo rod, made in August, 1954 (serial #7650). Scripted weight is 4 3/8oz, which matches my scale precisely. Rod is in good used condition with golden tan wraps and crimson accents. Carbaloy stripping guide and a combination of low bridge and bright snake guides throughout. Strap and ring hook keeper, black bakelite winding check and 6" half wells grip (slightly soiled/ridged). Down-locking aluminum reel seat over black bakelite spacer. Duronz ferrules fit perfectly. Both sections are full length, though the tip has a droop/set in the top 24". The tip section also has a 1.6" clear repair wrap between the 4th and 5th guides up from the ferrule, and a few of the snake guides are loose under their wraps. This rod would be a good candidate for a varnish overcoat at some point. Medium fast action, Winston rates this configuration as a 6wt. Sold in original cloth bag and Cal-Air tube with 60% label.
