For sale here is a Lew Stoner-era Winston 8' 2-piece / 1-tip bamboo rod in very good used condition. Winston records show it was made in August 1953 (serial #8841) and is rated as a 5wt, although I prefer it with a modern DT4. Medium tempered cane with bright snakes guides and carboloy stripping guides, wrapped in golden tan windings with red accents. Most of the windings show some degree of drying and could benefit from a light overcoat. Black bakelite winding check with strap & ring hook keeper. One signature wrap appears to have been re-wrapped, and the previous owners name is on the rod. Scripted and actual weight is 3 5/8 oz. 6" full wells grip shows some soiling and minor ridging. Downlocking aluminum reel seat over black bakelite spacer. All section are straight and full length, and the Duronz ferrules fit perfectly. A nice San Francisco Winston in a very fishable trout configuration.
