For sale here is a San Francisco-era Winston 8' 2-piece / single tip 4/5wt bamboo rod in excellent restored condition. The rod recently received a light restoration by Glenn Brackett, including resetting the ferrules and re-wrapping all guides. Hollow-fluted construction, the rod featured medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes and golden tan windings with dark red accents. The sections are straight, full length & serialized (#8273). Duronz ferrules are overwrapped and the fit is perfect. The original owner's name is scripted on the butt section. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6" cork grip (looking fresh, thanks to Mr. Brackett), and standard down-locking reel seat over Bakelite spacer. Scripted & actual weight is 3 3/4oz. Medium fast action, I like it with both 4 & 5wt lines. A nice restored SF Winston ready to fish. Sold in the original bag and tube with 75% Winston decal.
