Winston, R.L. - 7'6" 2/2 3oz (4wt) Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Winston 7'6" 2/2 3oz bamboo rod in excellent restored condition. Serial #9243, made in the mid 1960's during Doug Merrick & Gary Howells' tenure at Winston. The rod was restored by Winston probably sometime after the rod shop moved to Twin Bridges, as at the script is re-written in Tom Morgan's handwriting. Hollow-fluted construction with medium tempered cane, bright guides and gold/maroon wraps. All sections are full length & serialized, and both sets have slight droops/sets. Skeleton cork grip & seat shows light soiling. Scripted weight is 3oz, but my scale reads just under. Delightful medium action, I find it casts a DT4 at close range with great accuracy. A fine restored SF-era Winston, ready for service. Sold in the original bag and tube with 75% label.
