For sale here is an 8'6" 2-piece/2-tip hollow built 5wt bamboo rod from the bench of Chris Vance. Excellent+ used condition. Made in early 2022 and lightly used by the maker for one season. Featuring medium/dark flamed cane, 2x2 nodes, snake brand guides and banded agate stripper, wrapped in transparent chestnut windings & dark brown accents. Micro Swiss ferrules fit perfectly and the female is fitted with a machined aluminum and cork ferrule plug. All sections are full length & arrow straight, serialized and marked for ease of rotation. 3.6oz scripted and actual weight, the butt section has the makers signature as well as accent wraps at 18" and 20" above the butt cap. 6" full wells grip has some light soiling, but remains smooth. Blued & knurled nickel silver reel seat hardware over beautiful mahogany spacer. A versatile configuration for all but the tightest and brushiest creeks. This rod is remarkably light and powerful, one of my favorite tapers for dry fly fishing around Montana. Vance is a true craftsman and his experience as a custom furniture maker translates well to split cane rods.
