For sale here is a TMR 8'3" 2-piece 6wt fiberglass "Streamer Special" rod in excellent+ condition. Built on a sanded red brick blank with bright snake guides and red agate stripping guide. The wraps are burgundy with gold accents. Spigot ferrules fit perfectly with gaps to allow for wear, and the tip section is fitted with a NS top check. Wire loop hook keeper, octagonal NS winding check, full wells grip and up-locking NS reel seat over dark burl spacer. The rod appears to have been lawn cast only, and the original owner's name is inked on the butt of the rod, along with the serial (#2013-6-04). The Streamer Special was Tom Morgan's configuration of choice for fishing unweighted flies like girdle bugs, gray ghosts, and muddlers right at the surface using a floating line. This rod was designed with a strong enough tip to impart subtle motions to the fly while having a stout enough butt to pick up these larger flies. The Streamer Special is one of Tom's legacy tapers, and I can personally attest to its acumen as a killer hopper rod. This one is in fantastic condition and ready to fish. Sold in the TMR deluxe rod bag and octagonal burgundy heirloom tube with quilted tube protector.
