Tom Morgan Rodsmiths - 7'6" 2/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an early Tom Morgan Rodsmiths 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Serial #14 of 200, this cane work was done by Bill Blackburn during the first run of bamboo rods after Tom Morgan left Winston. Excellent used condition, featuring lightly tempered cane, bright guides and red agate stripping guide. Garnet windings with gold accents. All sections are full length, straight & serialized, and the tips are marked for ease of rotation. Bright ferrules fit perfectly, and the female is fitted with a knurled nickel silver & cork plug. All script is bold and clear, and the original owner's name is inked on the butt. 6.5" full wells grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with a cap & ring reel seat over mortised burl spacer. The TMR logo is engraved on an insert at the base of the butt cap. The varnish is in good shape throughout, with just a few small scratches/nicks from light use. Weight is 3.95oz. Medium fast action, a progressive trout taper that is lovely with a WF or DT5. One of the most popular TMR bamboo tapers, and for good reason. This rod is ready for anything! Sold in the original bag and hexagonal burgundy heirloom tube with custom hardware. The tube packs into its original quilted tube protector.
