For sale here is a Bob Summers model 856, 8' 2-piece / 2-tip, 5-6wt bamboo rod in excellent+ used condition. Darkly flamed cane with dark snake guides and high-bridge carbide stripping guide. Wraps are transparent brown and the tips are wrapped for ease of rotation. Blued step-down ferrules fit perfectly, and the female is fitted with an aluminum & cork ferrule plug that is tethered to the bag. All sections are full length, straight & serialized (#121479). The original owner's name is inked on the butt, along with the model info. Bent loop hook keeper, 6.25" cork grip and down-locking reel seat over dark wood spacer. Bob made this rod in 1979 and it looks like it has seen very little use. Weight is 4.62oz. A strong 5/6wt with semi-parabolic character. A very nice example of the 856, one of Summers' most popular tapers.
