Sigman, Robert - 8'6" 2/2 7wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an 8'6" 2/2 7wt bamboo rod made by California rod maker Robert Sigman. Excellent used condition. Medium tempered cane with dark guides wrapped transparent brown with black tipping. Sections are full length, straight & serialized (#9308). Blued ferrules fit perfectly. 6.25" full wells grip is smooth with moderate soiling, and the rod is fitted with a blued up-locking reel seat over fine wood spacer. Weight is 5.68oz. Powerful and progressive, on the faster side of medium fast. Capable of long, accurate casts with a DT7 line and a big fly. From the personal collection of the maker, owned and fished by Bob. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube.

"The quality of his rods was in my opinion deserving of wider recognition; they were always beautiful with top grade workmanship and as I remember his actions were very good. I did share with him the semi-hollow construction that I developed and then evolved with Mario while in California and I believe many of his rods incorporate this semi-hollow construction, though I believe he also made many solid rods throughout his career. Bob was a gentleman and a quality bamboo rod builder, and he will be missed."
