Scott Fly Rods - G85-5 8'6" 5wt - Early SF-Era Graphite Fly Rod
For sale here is an early Scott G85-5, 8'6" 5wt 2-piece graphite fly rod. Built in San Francisco in the mid-1980's, this is a fine example of the G-series rods that put Scott at the forefront of early graphite fly rods. Unsanded grey blank is wrapped with burnt orange and grey wraps, with white accents at the tip-top, female ferrule and hook keeper. Spigot ferrules fit perfectly with 1/8" gap for wear over time, and red witness marks for ease of alignment. Reverse torpedo grip with varnished cork winding check. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat with fine wood spacer. The rod is in excellent+ condition. The Scott G-series rods are known as some of the finest graphite rods ever produced, and the G85-5 is perhaps the best all-around trout rod in the series. This rod is sold with original Scott tube and sock.
