Scott Fly Rods - F93, 9'2" 2-piece 11wt Fiberglass Fly Rod

For sale here is a scarce early Scott 9'2" 2-piece 11wt fiberglass rod (Model F93). This is a mid 70's rod built on a translucent golden brown blank. A few rods were built on these translucent blanks to show the internal sleeves used to modify action. The rod is in good used condition with a few cosmetic issues of note. Bright guides are wrapped with golden tan threads, and a few guides show some discoloration through the thread wraps. The stripping guides on the butt section show the most discoloration, and the larger stripping guide has some flaking varnish. 8" full wells cork grip with gold anodized up-locking reel seat and fixed 2" fighting butt. The vanished cork winding check has a 1/2" chip missing, and the u-shaped hook keeper is slightly bent. Spigot ferrules fit securely, though there is no gap between the rod sections. The male ferrule has a small chip that does not effect ferrule fit. I have cast this rod with an 11wt full floating line and 11wt sink tip, and it is an absolute cannon. I find it to be fairly full flexing, and it really hits its stride at the 50' mark. This is an unusual early Scott glass rod to fish or add to your glass collection. Either way, you are unlikely to see another one. Sold with cloth rod bag (no tube).
