Scott Fly Rods - F91, 9' 2-piece 10wt Fiberglass Fly Rod

For sale here is a Scott 9' 2-piece 10wt fiberglass rod, model F91, in good used condition. This is an early rod built on a Lamiglas blank when Harry Wilson was still producing rods out of his basement shop. Yellow sanded blank with bright snake guide and U shaped hook keeper. Spigot ferrules fit perfectly with ~1/8" gap to allow for wear. The entire rod has been re-wrapped with chestnut brown thread wrapped over the original gold/tan windings, and is priced with this consideration. Serial no. A-113. 7.5" full wells grip shows some soiling and the varnished cork winding check is chipped. The gold anodized reel seat features a 2-part fighting butt; the top section acts as a threaded locking nut and the entire bottom section is ferruled into the butt section of the blank. This was an early innovation by Scott that was discontinued in the mid-1970's, allowing the rod to be fished with or without the fighting butt. The rod is sold with replacement tube and sock.
