For sale here is a beautiful Don Schroeder 7'9" 2/2 5wt quad bamboo rod in mint, unused condition. Serial #57816. Medium flamed cane with oxidized guides and red agate stripping guide, wrapped in transparent brown silks with chestnut tipping and chestnut intermediates throughout. Sections are arrow straight, serialized and the tips are marked for ease of rotation. Ferrules fit perfectly and the female is fitted with a knurled brass and cork ferrule plug. The varnish is absolutely perfect. Squared composite winding check leads into a 6" cork grip (slightly squared at the top), and screw-lock aluminum reel seat over dark wood spacer. The top of the knurled reel seat collar bears the D.G. Schroeder stamp. Weight is 4.3oz, a crisp 5wt on the faster side of medium fast. Don Schroeder is a master of the craft with over 40 years of experience, and this is a beautiful example in mint condition. Sold in the original bag with stiffener and brass capped tube and custom tube protector.
