Powell, E.C. (Maslan Era) - 7' 3/2 4wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a very rare 7' 3-piece / 2-tip Maslan-era EC Powell rod in excellent+ condition. Made for the current owner by Tony Maslan and lawn cast only. Dwight Lyons did a tasteful job touching up/buffing out a few original defects in the varnish (almost ubiquitous on Maslan rods), and the result is nearly perfect. The rod features medium tempered cane with the standard Powell "2-up" node spacing and book-matched tips. Hard chrome snake guides with Carboloy stripper, wrapped in color-preserved dark gold windings with black & white accent at the hook keeper denoting a hollowbuilt rod. The butt is scripted with the patent number and "*E.C. Powell Rod Co.*". Snake guide hook keeper, 5.5" cork grip, pocketed cap & ring reel seat over cork spacer. All the cork is smooth and clean, and the reel seat hardware is the standard un-stamped Maslan style. Weight is 3.25oz. All sections are straight and full length, and the ferrules fit perfectly. Medium fast action (feels like a B-taper), perfect with a DT4 although is casts a modern WF3 very well. A nearly impossible to find 7' Maslan Powell, sold in the original bag and tube.
