Powell, E.C. - 9'6" 2/2 7wt C-taper Bamboo rod

For sale here is a 9'6" 2/2 7wt E.C. Powell bamboo rod in excellent+ original condition. C-taper, hollowbuilt steelhead rod. Featuring medium tempered cane with "2-up" nodes. Bronze snake guides and light red agate stripping guide wrapped in dark gold, color preserved wraps. 7 intermediate wraps between the hook keeper and the stripper, and single intermediates between each guide. All sections are straight and full length. Bright nickel silver ferrules fit perfectly, and are witness marked in red. 6.5" cork grip is clean and smooth, and the rod is fitted with the standard up-locking aluminum reel seat over black composite spacer (Powell die stamp on the interrupted threads). Weight is 5oz. Black & white accents at the hook keeper indicating hollowbuilt construction. Above the hook keeper has script on all 6 flats, including the patent number, the words "Built by - E.C. Powell, Angler", and an inscription to the original recipient. The rod was a gift to a physician for care provided, and the (mostly) intact shipping label shows the doctor's mailing address in San Francisico. A USPS postage label is also present, though the date is illegible. Powerful, butt-flexing/tip-resisting C-taper action, it makes long & accurate casts with a DT7 very comfortably. The rod has been sold before and was advertised as unfished. I can see no evidence to the contrary, and aside from a few areas of light bag burn (almost insignificant), I find this to be an extremely well preserved E.C. Powell steelhead rod in completely original condition. Sold in the original bag and tube with non-original hangtag.
