Powell, E.C. - 6' 2/1 Bamboo Plugcast Rod (3/8oz)

For sale here is a 2-piece 6' E.C. Powell bamboo plug casting rod in very good original condition. Rated for 3/8oz casting plugs, the rod weighs 3.67oz. Medium toned cane with "2-opposed" nodes. Agate guides and tip top, wrapped in gold windings with intermediate wraps throughout. Wraps on the tip are darker than the butt; the tip appears to be re-wrapped. Moderate grip soiling and light ridging, the cork looks like it received a half-hearted cleaning at some point. Down-locking reel seat over black composite spacer (this is the standard fly rod reel seat in reversed orientation). The cane and varnish are in excellent condition and the ferrules fit perfectly. A somewhat scarce Powell casting rod, sold in the original bag and replacement tube. From the collection of Per G. Brandin. This rod is also featured on p78 of Per's book on the life and rods of E.C.
