Payne - Model 204 8'6" 3/2 6wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Payne 204, 8'6" 3/2 6wt bamboo rod in excellent restored condition. Fully restored by Steve Blake, featuring medium tempered bamboo and oxidized guides wrapped in chestnut brown windings with black tipping. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are full length and free of repairs. They are also quite straight except both tips have very faint fish fighting sweeps. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6" grip (smooth and clean), and up-locking Payne reel seat over Spanish cedar spacer. The screw collar has the Payne logo on one side and "Sold by Abercrombie & Fitch" on the reverse. It looks like an older restoration in very nice shape. Cosmetic cracks in the varnish at the ferrules are the only sign of use/age. Scripted weight is 5 1/8oz, but my scale actually reads a bit less (5.04oz). Medium action, I like it with a DT6 although some may prefer it with a 5wt line. The 204 is a great Payne trout taper, and this one is ready to fish. Sold in the bag with original hangtag and an original Payne brass capped tube (no label).
