For sale here is a Payne Banty, 4'4" 2/2 4wt bamboo rod, made by Dave Holloman of Sister's Oregon. Mint condition, lawn cast only. Lightly tempered cane with chestnut brown windings and gold accents. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight & full length. 5.5" grip is clean and smooth, and the rod is fitted with the classic cap & ring Payne reel seat over Spanish cedar spacer. Scripted weight is 1 5/8oz but my scale reads closer to 1 7/8oz. Medium fast action, it loads nicely with a DT4 at about 20-25'. Dave Holloman owned and operated the E.F. Payne Rod Co for over 30 years, creating faithful renditions of Payne's most beloved tapers. This is a beautifully executed Banty, ready to fish or collect. Sold in the original bag with hangtag and replacement (Powell) tube.
