Payne - 9' 3/2 6wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Payne 9' 3/2 6wt bamboo rod. Excellent restored condition, and I believe one tip is a replacement. The bamboo is flamed and the rod has English twist guides throughout (except on the replacement tip). Wraps are dark red with black accents, and the rod has full intermediates. Minute agate stripping guide has 4 hairline cracks that appear stable. "Potbelly" ferrules are bright and fit perfectly. All sections are straight & full length, and the tips are fitted with agate tip tops. Strap & ring hook keeper, 5 1/4" grip is cleaned and ridged, and the real seat is all nickel silver with slide band. The top of the reel seat bears the early stamp "E.F. Payne - Maker - Highland Mills - NY". Weight is 4.80oz. A nicely restored early rod from the E.F. Payne rod company. The action is medium, full flexing, and best with a modern DT6. Sold in a replacement bag and tube.
