Payne - 7'6" 2/1 4wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Payne 7'6" 2-piece / 1-tip 4wt bamboo rod. The butt section looks original and the tip has been completely refinished. The varnish on the butt section is in good shape, but the tip varnish was poorly done, leading to significant orange-peel texture / alligatoring (although it has set up hard). Red agate stripping guide, blued ferrules (11/64) fit nicely, and the sections are full length and free of repairs. The tip section has a faint downward set but it's rather minor. Strap & ring hook keeper, 5.5" grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with a blued cap & ring reel seat over Spanish cedar spacer. Butt cap retains the Payne roll stamp and "Sold by Abercrombie & Fitch" on the reverse. Weight is 3.28oz. Action on the medium side of medium fast, this is probably a model 100. Quite fishable as-is, even with the noted issues. If you've ever wanted a "knock around" light line Payne, this is it!
