Paul H. Young - 'Para 18' 9'6" 2/2 9wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a 9'6" 2/2 Paul Young 'Para 18' bamboo rod in excellent+ restored condition. Expertly restored by Bob Summers, the rod features medium flamed cane, bright snake guides and Perfection stripping guide wrapped in golden tan windings. All sections are straight, full length and free of repairs. Blued 18/64 ferrules fit perfectly. 6.75" grip is soiled but smooth. Down-locking reel seat over cork spacer. The butt cap shows some minor bluing loss but retains the PHY roll stamp. Weight is 6.68oz. This rod is an unmitigated powerhouse. It comes to life at about 45' with a WF8F saltwater line, and I suspect it might handle a 9wt as well. Strong parabolic character; load the rod properly and hold on tight! Made in August 1950, script on the butt is Paul Young's. A beautifully restored example, sold in the original bag and a Champion-style tube.
