Paul H. Young - Para 14 7'6" 2/3 5wt Bamboo Rod (Pending)

For sale here is a very rare 7'6" 2-piece / 3-tip Paul Young Para 14 bamboo rod. Excellent restored condition, the restoration was performed by Bob Summers who scarfed one of the original tips and made a 3rd tip at the same time. Flamed cane with dark snake guides and Perfection stripper. Wraps are transparent tan with color-preserved tan/gold on the replacement tip. 14/64 ferrules fit perfectly. The tips are marked "Ferrule 14/64 - Tip 4 1/2 64" and the butt is scripted " 7'6" Parabolic 14 - 4 1/2 3.20oz HEH -- C.K. Lively - Pittsburgh PA 12/52 -- Paul H Young Co. Detroit". All script is in Bob Summer's hand. All three tips have slight sets, and the scarf to one of the original tips is between the 2nd & 3rd snake guide. All cork grip & reel seat with dual slide bands and thumb relief. The cork was replaced by Summers and remains smooth with light soiling. Scripted and actual weight is 3.20oz. Medium fast, semi parabolic action. A fine caster with a WF5. Any Paul Young Para 14 is a rare rod, and this one owned by well-known PHY customer Chauncy Lively is a nice piece of history. An extremely difficult rod to find, in any condition. Sold in the original technicolor bag and "Bomber" tube with partial label.
