For sale here is an Orvis CFO III "screwback" fly reel in very good used condition. Made in England by Hardy's. Stan Bogdan created the original prototype for this reel and they were first offered for sale in the 1971 Orvis catalog. RHW or LHW. This is an early 1970's reel featuring a ported spool and frame with aluminum center screw and rivets, dark gray enamel paint, three-hole aluminum reel foot, and quick release spool. Mechanically perfect with some wear to the rims. 3" diameter with a spool width of 11/16. Sold in a drawstring suede pouch. From the collection of Per G. Brandin.
