Leonard, H.L. - Model 66, 8' 2/2 5wt Bamboo Rod - Pre-fire

For sale here is a pre-fire Leonard model 66, 8' 2-piece / 2-tip bamboo rod in very good used condition. Original except most of the butt section has been re-wrapped. Light colored cane with oxidized English-twist guides wrapped in crimson windings with claret accents. All sections are straight & full length, and the waisted 13/64 ferrules fit perfectly. 5.5" cork grip is smooth and shows very light soiling. Nickel silver cap & ring reel seat over mortised spacer. The H.L. Leonard stamp on the butt cap is faint towards the bottom but remains legible. Aside from the re-wraps, all the other guides received a light overcoat at some point, and the rod requires no immediate attention. Weight is 3.60 oz. A pure 5wt in my hands, with a very nice medium action. Sold in the original brass capped tube and bag with stiffener. A previous owner also added a name patch and cloth tab to the bag.
