For sale here is an H.L. Leonard Model 50DF, 8' 3-piece / 2-tip 6wt bamboo rod in good used condition. Serial #573, a post-fire, Maxwell era rod. Blonde cane with transparent honey-colored wraps. Step-down ferrules fit perfectly, and the rod weighs 4.30oz. Both tips have mendable sets, and one tip is down ~0.5". The short tip broke at the tip top and the repair was performed at the Leonard shop. A few small chips/scuffs to the varnish, but nothing that needs attention. All sections are serialized, and Tom Maxwell's distinct script remains bold and clear. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6" cork grip (slightly soiled but smooth), and nickel silver slide band reel seat over mortised wood spacer. The butt cap is roll stamped "H.L. Leonard Rod Co. - The Rod Maker - Since 1869. A nice used example, ready to hit the water once again. Sold in the original bag & brass capped tube.
