Leonard, H.L. - Model 40-6, 8' 2/2 6wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an H.L. Leonard 40-6, 8' 2/2 6wt bamboo rod in excellent+ condition. Made in 1982, shortly after Tom Maxwell's departure from the H.L. Leonard Rod Co. Featuring wheat straw colored cane with 3x3 nodes and golden tan windings. Oxidized snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are full length, dead straight and serialized (#8231). Strap & ring hook keeper, 6" grip (clean with just a hint of ridging), and up-locking aluminum reel seat over fine wood spacer. The H.L. Leonard roll stamp is clear and bold on the screw collar, and this rod is fitted with a single cork ring & distinct acorn cap fighting butt. A handsome addition on this strong 6wt rod, and clearly a custom order. Weight is 4.51oz. Action is medium fast, and this rod can sling some line. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube.
