For sale here is a fantastic Maxwell Leonard 39M-5, 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Blonde cane with 3x3 nodes and oxidized guides wrapped in transparent tan windings. All sections are straight, full length & serialized in Tom Maxwell's script (#434). Ferrules fit perfectly and the tips are marked for ease of rotation. Strap & ring hook keeper, 5.75" cork grip (clean and smooth, and blued nickel silver checks. Blued cap & ring reel seat over mortised maple spacer. Minor bluing loss to the reel seat hardware, and the butt cap retains the later-era Leonard roll stamp. The butt is lightly swelled, and the rod weighs just under 4oz. A medium-fast actioned 5wt, and one of the finest Maxwell Leonard tapers out there. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube.
