Leonard, H.L. - Model 38H, 7' 2/2 4wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an H.L. Leonard 38H 7' 2/2 4wt bamboo rod in mint restored condition. Restored by Japanese rod maker Naoki Hashimoto, this rod features wheat straw colored cane with transparent tan wraps, dark snake guides with chrome stripping guide and bright stepdown ferrules. All sections are straight & full length, and the ferrules fit perfectly. The tips are marked for ease of rotation. 4.25" cork grip is bright and smooth under plastic, and the rod is fitted with the original cap & ring reel seat over butternut spacer. Weight is 2.56oz. Medium slow action, if feels like it will cast nicely with a DT4. Hashimoto did a fine job restoring this rod with two minor additions of his own, 1) the markings to differentiate each tip and 2) a handsome aluminum & cork ferrule plug for the female ferrule. The rod packs into the original bag with hangtag and stiffener, and the original brass capped tube.
