For sale here is an H.L. Leonard Model 38 ACM, 7' 2/2 4wt bamboo rod in excellent original condition. Medium tempered cane with "3-up" nodes, dark oxidized snake guides and hard chrome stripping guide. Wraps are the seldom seen light/medium blue with variegated accents. 11/64 ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight and full length. 4.5" cigar grip is lightly soiled with just a slight hint of ridging. Nickel silver cap & ring reel seat with "wedding band" ring and white cedar spacer. The butt cap is stamped "The Leonard Rod - HL Leonard Rod Co. - Makers", with a patent stamp on the reverse. A superb example of the rarely seen pre-fire 38 ACM. This rod was made with a heavy and light tip, and you can clearly see the difference with the naked eye. A full flexing, medium action 4wt, although the lighter tip casts a DT3 also. A great rod to fish or collect. Sold in the original bag with replacement hang tag, and original brass capped tube.
