Leonard Hunt model 49-5, 7'6\" 3\/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent used condition. All original except the 2nd snake guide on the mid is slightly deformed and the wraps have been touched up. Flamed cane with 3x3 nodes and dark guides in the \"Hunt\" fashion. Wraps are dark red and the agate stripping guide matches the windings. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are full length, straight \u0026amp; serialized (#83147). A nicely swelled butt leads into the 5.5\" cork grip (soiled \u0026amp; smooth) and blued cap \u0026amp; ring reel seat over mortised spacer. Weight is 3.99oz. Medium fast action, a crisp 5wt with superb dry fly sensibilities. The rod has some bluing loss and signs of honest use but remains in very nice shape. Dymo label on the tube indicates this is a Maxwell rod. A Maxwell taper, perhaps, but made after Tom Maxwell left Leonard. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube with the H.L.
