For sale here is an H.L. Leonard 9' 3-piece / 2-tip for a 5-6wt line. Very good original condition, probably a model 51. Lightly tempered cane with dark snake guides and Perfection stripping guide. Wraps are light green and crimson, with 3 sets of tipping wraps at each guide and ferrule. Ferrules fit perfectly, and the rod is fitted with the rarely seen nickel silver ferrule plugs. The sections are straight and full length. Strap & ring hook keeper, 5.5" cork grip (clean & slightly ridged), and down-locking reel seat over wood spacer. The Leonard roll stamp is clear and crisp on the pocketed butt cap. It will cast a 5 or a 6 line, although it feels best with a 5. Once owned by national casting champion Herman Hittenberger, he lovingly referred to this rod as "Rose", which is neatly engraved on the pocketed butt cap.
