For sale here is a Marty Karstetter 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Rod #16 from Mr. Karstetter, made in 1989. Solid built with Resorcinol glue lines, bright guide and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are dark crimson, and all sections are full length, straight & serialized. Bright ferrules fit perfectly. The bottom snake on one tip is deformed, but this tip still casts just fine. Strap & ring hook keeper, Garrison-style cork grip is smooth with light soiling. The reel seat is 50/50 cork & wood, and the cork has some small grooves in the back from the slide band. Scripted weigh is 3 1/2oz, but my scale reads 3.8oz. Medium fast, progressive action. Best with a DT5. Karstetter is well known for his longer hollow built rods, but it's nice to see this early offering in a slightly shorter, solid taper. Sold in the original bag and tube.
