Howells, G.H. - 8' 2/2 6-7wt (4 1/4oz) Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Gary Howells 8' 2/2 6-7wt bamboo rod in very good used condition. #3980, made in 1972. All original and in fine condition except for a small chip to the cane on one tip that would merit a clear wrap. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes, bright guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are chestnut brown with gold tipping and red accents. Ferules fit perfectly and the sections are all full length, straight & serialized. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6.5" cork grip (smooth with light soiling), and up-locking reel seat over zebrawood spacer. Scripted and actual weight is 4 1/4oz. Medium fast action, I like it with a DT6 although it should handle a 7wt nicely. The rod looks like it has seen little use, and if not for the chip in the bamboo it would rate as excellent+. Sold in the original bag and tube with maker's label affixed.
