Howells, G.H. - 7'6" 2/2 6wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Gary Howells 7'6" 2/2 6wt bamboo rod in very good used condition. Serial #4217, made in 1975. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes, bright snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are color preserved chestnut brown with gold tipping. The wraps and varnish are in excellent condition throughout except for one damaged winding on the second snake down from one of the tips. The guide is secure, but the next owner may wish to address this with either an overcoat or a full rewrap. All sections are full length and serialized, and both tips have very faint sweeps from right hand casting. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6" grip and screw lock reel seat over zebrawood spacer. The cork is clean and smooth, and the reel seat spacer has some faint mounting marks. Scripted weight is 3 3/8oz, but my scale reads closer to 3 3/4oz. Action is on the medium side of medium fast. I prefer it with a true-to-weight WF6, and the rod excels at short and medium distances. Sold in the original bag and tube with data label affixed.
