For sale here is a Gary Howells 7'6" 2/2 4wt bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Serial #4341, made in 1976. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes, bright snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are color preserved chestnut brown with gold tipping. All sections are full length, straight & serialized. 13/64 ferrules fit perfectly, and the female is overwrapped to the welt. 6" Western grip over cork spacer and aluminum cap & ring reel seat. The cork shows a bit of graying, but the rod has clearly seen very little use. The only condition note I have is a small lateral crack in the cork at the reel seat (appears stable). Scripted weight is 3oz, but my scale reads just a hair over. Medium action, a smooth casting 4wt and a popular Howells taper. Sold in the original bag and tube with intact data label.
